First physical meeting – February 25th, 2024

The PYTHAGORAS project, part of the ERASMUS+ initiative, recently held two significant events. The first was its inaugural physical Steering Committee meeting, convened at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Cairo, Egypt, on February 25, 2024. This project is a collaborative effort involving six academic institutions: The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and Ain Shams University in Egypt; University of Cyprus in Cyprus; Sapienza University of Rome; University of Manouba; and University of Sfax in Tunisia. Additionally, two institutes, the Academy for Scientific Research and Technology in Egypt and Centre de Calcul El-Khawarizmi in Tunisia, are part of this consortium.

The first physical meeting of the Pythagoras Erasmus+ Project will take place from February 25 to 27, 2024 in Cairo, Egypt.

The first physical meeting of the Pythagoras Erasmus+ Project will take place from February 25 to 27, 2024 in Cairo, Egypt.

PYTHAGORAS will modernize higher institutions in Egypt and Tunisia helping in their digital transformation. This is consistent with their own development strategies and it will inter-connect them and bring an international dimension to their development strategy as it will provide European expertise and networking. Every effort will be made for the events to be inclusive and diverse reaching out to disadvantaged participants as well.

PYTHAGORAS also contributes to the aim of Sustainable growth and jobs as it promotes entrepreneurship.

This first industry workshop of the project explores how advanced simulations and other technologies are reshaping our world. From increasing the efficiency of renewable energy, to circular agriculture, to molecular detection, to industry 4.0.

The workshop brings together experts from Italy, Cyprus and the MENA region.
